Founder Story

For more than 20 years, my life has revolved around movement, adventure, and the outdoors. As a lifelong endurance athlete, from finishing the Boston Marathon twice to completing 20+ Iron-distance triathlons, qualifying for the World Championships, earning an Age Group Long Course World Champion title, and running ultramarathons up to 100+ miles, I’ve spent decades exploring trails, pushing limits, and learning how to stay safe, prepared, and grounded in nature. Alongside that, my years of involvement with local dog rescues have shown me just how transformative those same outdoor experiences can be for dogs.

I’ve seen firsthand how powerful movement, fresh air, and a change of scenery can be for a dog’s mind and spirit. The trail doesn’t just exercise their body; it gives them confidence, curiosity, and a sense of freedom even while staying safely on-leash.

Tails to Trails OKC was created from the natural intersection of these two passions: an active lifestyle rooted in nature, and a heartfelt desire to help dogs live fuller, happier lives.

My goal isn’t just to take your dog for a walk. It’s to give them an adventure, a chance to sniff new smells, explore new environments, and engage all their senses in a safe, structured, and enriching way. Whether your dog is timid and needs confidence-building or overflowing with energy and needs purposeful movement, the trail provides something special for every personality.

When your dog comes with me, they’re not just getting exercise. They’re benefiting from decades of outdoor experience, athletic training, safety awareness, and a genuine understanding of how to read a dog’s needs, comfort levels, and excitement on the trail.

Tails to Trails OKC is more than a business to me. It’s a way to share the joy of the outdoors with the dogs who bring so much joy into our lives. And I’m honored to bring that experience to your best friend.
